Our purpose states: The orgainzed unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose Purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a cretive, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the glogal ministries of the church. All women are cordially invited to join us.
Helping Hands Circle meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month (excluding January and February) at 10:00 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Chairperson: Anna Armstrong; Vice Chair: Ginnie McDowell; Treasurer: Pearl Price; Secretary: Esther Manchester. This incredible group of diverse women meets monthly March through December on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 10:00 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Come share the love, support, and fellowship of these ladies as we study James Moore's "Yes, Lord, I Have Sinned But I Have Several Excellent Excuses." Our pledges to go World Wide Mission, World Thank Offering, and the Waynesville District of UMW. The circle was blessed in 2010 to extend financial aid to the Sharing Center (Food Bank), Vacation Bible School, as well as the local carities of Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Homeless Shelter, One Dozen Who Care, and with medical assistance for a church member. Monthly support goes to REACH and the Homeless Shelter. Our gifts of time and talent were blessed and a result of our support from our church family. We thank you for helping us make a difference in Cherokee County and beyond. We hope you will join us and share God's Grace and Love!
Willing Workers Circle meets monthly (except June and July) the 2nd Monday of the month in the evening. We strive to participate in the missions of United Methodist Women locally, nationally, and internationally. Our focus is to aid women, children, and youth. Locally we support the work of the Sharing Center Food Bank, the Homeless Shelter, and REACH. We also are happy to help with other needs within our congregation and community. All ages of women in the church are welcome to join us.
The Executive Board is in need of officers, Social Action, Program Resource, Communication Coordinator, Nomination Chair for 2013, and Historan are positions that need to be filled. If you are interested in helping call 837-5363. This requires 4 meetings a year, the firs being February 10 at 2:00 p.m. It may also require your participation or leadership in preparing one program for UMW sometime during the upcoming year.
