Achievers Our class of senior citizens meets each Sunday morning. Members of the class have great discussions from the Adult Bible Studies. We enjoy our time together and share our concerns and blessings. We meet in Room 204, which is on the main floor of the Education Building. We welcome anyone who enjoys being in a small caring study group.
Seekers This is a mixed-age class that meets in the Fellowship Hall from 9:30 to 10:30 led by Fred Meeker. Due to the earlier time, many of our choir members attend this class. Study topic varies.
Upper Room This is an adult class that meets on the 4th floor of the sanctuary building. We begin by singing hymn selections. Our teachers are Wally Avett and David Turpin. We use the International Bible series and we also focus on the Old Testament.
The Upper Classmen This class is taught by Tim & Jackie Lee. It is offered for High School and College age students. The class meets in the dome room of the sanctuary building on the third floor over the choir loft.
Jr. High This class is taught by Joe & Cathrine Thorley and meets in Room 301 of the Education Building.
Elementary This class is taught by Paige Brinke for children 2nd - 5th grades and meets in room 304 of the Education Building. Music practice for Revelation Choir is also included during this class time.
Toddler/Preschool This class is team-taught by Mary Ledford and Lori Martin and meets in Room 203 of the Education Building. Children age 2 through 1st grade are invited to attend. Music practice for Genesis Choir is also included during this time.
Introducing the Lay Academy Growing in our faith and becoming more like Christ is what Sunday School is all about and it is what the Lay Christian Academy is all about. The Lay Academy will run in concert with Sunday School, offering additional classes for those who want to learn and grow in their knowledge and practice of the Christian Life.
Our Lay Academy will offer classes in three areas: 1) Bible, 2) Faith, and 3) Christian Life. Classes will run approximately 6 to 12 weeks in a 12-week semester and folks will be able to select a different class each semester.
Initial course offerings (September 11th) are as follows:
Romans, a 12-week course taught by Dr. Mickey Efird and facilitated by our own John Mattox. The class will be held in room 300 of the Education Building.
Methodism 101, a 6-week course is being hosted by “The Dome” Sunday School class and is taught by Rev. David Fuller and Pastor Beck. The course will outline our history as a denomination and those things that make us unique in the Christian family.
The Me I Want to Be, a 10-week course on becoming the godly person God created us to be. This course will meet at the Daily Grind and be taught by Rev. John Ortberg and facilitated by Jason Forrester.
